HOW TO COOK QUINOA


Quinoa is a complete protein that contains the eight essential amino acids. It is light and fluffy in texture, but has the ability of whole grain to fill the stomach.

If you have visitors you can easily double the amount of this recipe and serve eight people.

Learn to cook   quinoa

Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

.1 cup of organic quinoa
.2 cups of water
.½ teaspoon of salt

Preparation

1.Rinse the quinoa in a fine sieve until the water  runs clear.
2.Drain and transfer to a medium pot.
3.Add water and salt and bring to a boil.
4.Tapala, reduce the heat to medium-low and cook over  low heat until the water is absorbed, (about 15 to 20  minutes).
5.Set it aside from the fire for 5 minutes; discover  and remove the lint with a fork.

Tips and tricks for cooking quinoa

1.To accentuate the flavor use vegetable broth instead  of water to cook the quinoa.
2.Toast the quinoa (after washing), before cooking, in  a large skillet for 3 to 4 minutes to add more depth  to its flavor.
3.Pour the hot soy milk over the cooked quinoa and  cover it with nuts and dried fruits to enjoy as a  cereal in a satisfying breakfast.
4.For a healthy twist on the salads of potatoes and  pasta, toss on cooked quinoa with chopped vegetables,  fresh herbs, vinegar and olive oil.
5.Add cooked quinoa to soups, stews and casseroles.
6.Store cooked and cooled quinoa in a tightly closed  container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days or in  the freezer for up to 2 months.
